Early Winter is the best time of the year for birds.
According to Everglades National Park Superintendent Pedro Ramos, 2017 was the best bird year in over 50 years. Ramos claimed they finally got the water flow right. I believe we got lucky from a record rainfall Summer 2017 and a perfect drop in the water levels.
The result is our current 2018 Winter bird season with lots of Juveniles, The best birds spots have been on the Western edge of the Everglades. Our bird bucket list for Everglades tours is:
Roseate Spoonbills
Wood Storks
American Bald Eagle
