Birds in the Everglades

Early Winter is the best time of the year for birds.

According to Everglades National Park Superintendent Pedro Ramos, 2017 was the best bird year in over 50 years.  Ramos claimed they finally got the water flow right.  I believe we got lucky from a record rainfall Summer 2017 (more…)

Water levels

Record water levels from the Fall have dropped, leaving plenty of fish for wading birds, seeing dozens of Roseate Spoonbills (pictured), hundreds of Wood Storks, and thousands of egrets, herons and ibis.
